BBF Welcomes Two New Board Members

As the foundation prepares to commemorate its 100th year of grantmaking in 2026, we are excited to announce the appointment of two community members, Laura Hill and Dennis Trammell, Jr., to our Board of Directors.

Laura brings a wealth of experience in finance and healthcare to the board. Laura currently serves as Chief Investment Officer at Advocate Health, one of the nation's largest non-profit healthcare systems. Laura is a Muncie native who recently relocated to the community and has since taken on numerous leadership roles.

Dennis is a Chicago-native who attended Ball State University and has dedicated his career to helping the Muncie community. Dennis has worked for a number of BBF grantees and has served on the boards of organizations including the Muncie Sports Commission and the Cardinal Varsity Club.

"Their diverse backgrounds, deep ties to the community, and commitment to our mission make them invaluable additions to our team. Dennis and Laura are deeply active and engaged in this community and have chosen to live here, work here, and raise their families here. As we look ahead to our centennial year, their leadership will be instrumental in guiding BBF into its next century of impact." - Jud Fisher, President & CEO of Ball Brothers Foundation

BBF Recognizes Outgoing Board Members

Long-time board members Terri Matchett and Terry Walker completed their terms with BBF's board in December 2023 after 11 and 21 years of dedicated service.

“Both Terri and Terry played pivotal roles in Ball Brothers Foundation’s growth and evolution. During their years on the board, our foundation significantly grew its asset base, its staff, and its grantmaking. Terri and Terry were there every step of the way, providing wise counsel and support." -Jud Fisher, President & CEO

We are deeply grateful to Terri and Terry for their service and impact!

Grantee Spotlight: Supporting Public Education

Ten years ago, BBF began ramping up funding to support public schools in the heart of Muncie’s urban core including Muncie Community Schools and Burris Laboratory School.

Now, we're taking a look back to see how this funding has impacted students, teachers, schools, and the community.

BBF Behind the Scenes

Ball Brothers Foundation Senior Program Officer, Rich Spisak, recently spoke with a class of college students at BSU’s Teachers College about grantwriting, foundations, and philanthropy. We always enjoy the chance to share more about our work, and this t-shirt gifted to him by the class was a “fun” surprise!
