Ball Brothers Foundation Announces Recent Grants

Over $900,000 to be granted to local, regional, and state organizations

Muncie, Indiana - Ball Brothers Foundation announced today that its board recently approved grants to several organizations throughout Indiana during its October meeting. The majority of the grants will be distributed to local organizations while a select few grants were directed to groups outside the East Central Indiana region.

The recipient nonprofits are: Big Brothers and Big Sisters ($15,000), Camp Crosley YMCA ($150,000), Cardinal Greenway ($35,000), Center for Rural Outreach & Public Service (Knox; $22,500), Conflict Resolution Center (Richmond; $8,000), Habitat for Humanity ($100,000), Henry County Economic Development Corporation ($20,000), Huffer Memorial Children's Center ($75,000), John P. Craine House (Indianapolis; $15,000), Muncie Children's Museum ($11,500), Muncie YMCA Black Achievers Program ($30,000), Second Harvest Food Bank ($300,000), United Way of Delaware County ($95,000), University of Indianapolis ($25,000).

Other organizations approved for grants prior to the October board meeting through separate Foundation programs include: Special Olympics (Indianapolis; $7,500), Muncie Community Schools ($2,700), The Creative Arts Council of Wells County ($500), Muncie-Delaware Clean and Beautiful ($3,500), ECI Pheasants Forever ($5,000).

Ball Brothers Foundation also announced that it is expanding its capacity for grantmaking and community leadership by adding new staff. "We are looking for a qualified individual to become part of our team," said Jud Fisher, executive director and chief operating officer. "The position of program officer will focus on education and the environment, two of our important grant categories." The position announcement was made on the foundation's website last week.

Ball Brothers Foundation was founded in 1926 to promote and carry out philanthropic efforts in the state of Indiana.
